MetaMask partners with Game7 to introduce HyperPlay, a Web3 game launcher that allows users to easily carry in-game assets like NFTs and Tokens through the iconic crypto wallet, MetaMask.
One of the world’s leading crypto wallets, MetaMask, showcases bullish sentiments into Web3 gaming by announcing its partnership with Game7 to release a Web3 game launcher, HyperPlay.
Game7 is a DAO that’s powered by its community. It seeks to create and gamify a community passionate about shaping the future through supporting builders, creators, and educators. Its ultimate goal is to introduce gamers worldwide to the wonders of the blockchain ecosystem.
The collaborative project aims to give MetaMask a foothold in the GameFi industry through the creation of a blockchain game launcher that can be interacted with users’ Metamask wallets.
The soon-to-launch HyperPlay will be a gaming platform that will propel GameFi through its various functions. The game platform will encourage developers of blockchain gaming to build crypto-native games on its platform, making various web3 games easily accessible in a single location. There are over 1,550 blockchain games, ready to be played by gamers as of June 2022 and the number keeps increasing as the months go by.
Users will also be able to interact with in-game NFTs, achievements, and tokens within their MetaMask wallets. Accessibility and Interoperability have been one of the greatest hurdles to GameFi adoption which means that HyperPlay’s functions will effectively address a few of the greatest obstacles to GameFi mass adoption.
Gamers will be able to take assets they have in-game and convert them to other games and, through MetaMask, apply their assets from GameFi into DeFi. Moreover, HyperPlay is reported to be open-sourced, ushering in a thriving permissionless game economy with its project.
HyperPlay is certainly not the first project that seeks to improve blockchain gaming discovery. Similar projects like Rainmakergames and GameSpace are similar in their ethos, which is to provide an easily accessible platform for gamers in Web3 and make it easier for builders to reach their digital products to their intended consumers.
In Web3, it’s more than just ensuring sound in-game economies and fun mechanics, it’s also trying to provide easily accessible products and services and furthering the technologies that are available in blockchain gaming as opposed to traditional gaming such as interoperability between in-game economies, scalability in the metaverse, and so much more.
Metamask believes that gaming is one of the best popular use cases for its product. They are not far off, because blockchain gaming has proven to be solid despite despairing market conditions since gaming has accounted for 60% of overall blockchain activity.
The recent move is a clear investment strategy that bets towards the possible bullish future of the GameFi industry. Metamask can also serve as a bridge for blockchain gamers who haven’t tried financial services in DeFi and DeFi investors who want to take a gander into blockchain gaming.
Along with projects that seek to improve GameFi accessibility and interoperability like Rainmakergames, the future seems to look exciting for GameFi since many builders are looking to create their own versions of how game discovery can look for blockchain gaming.
